Housing & Infrastructure
Poddar Projects Limited has developed one of the largest commercial landmarks in Kolkata, Poddar Court, and a residential complex near Kolkata Airport. It also has a land area of 35 bighas in the Port Area, with a built up space of 1,50,000 sq.ft. and a large Container Yard. It is also a partner in Sherwood Estates, located at Narendrapur, which is less than a kilometer away from the proposed eight-lane super express EM Bypass. The group is developing a project in the most prime location of Kolkata, A.J.C. Bose Road, with luxurious residential apartments and a Shopping Mall with a multiplex.
It is also setting up a Mini Township on 230 Bighas of land in Burdwan, and has been awarded the development of the Bus Terminal at Burdwan. Poddar Projects Limited has acquired 24 Bighas of land in the Burdwan City for Housing projects for the middle income group. Dheeraj Promoters has successfully completed projects of 5,00,000 sq.ft. in Burdwan and Durgapur, and has acquired 120 bighas in Bankura and is still under the process of acquiring more land. It also owns land next to the main railway station of Raniganj for a mixed development of 2,30,000 sqft. of commercial and residential area.
Healthcare
It is a 205 bedded multi specialty hospital with a built-up area of 160000 sq. ft. The Hospital is running 6 Operation Theatres that have a state of art outdoor and indoor facility. The Hospital is equipped with MRI, CT Scan, Colour Doppler, Pathology Labs , ICCU, ITU, ICU, Step Down Unit, Wards, and Research facilities with the world’s most advance medical technologies. Our expert team of renowned consultants and dedicated staff members strive to cure the patients from a wide range of medical conditions. The hospital is also carrying out Nephrology treatment which includes, Dialysis and Kidney Transplantation. The other areas of specialization are cardiology (invasive & non-invasive), clinical research, gastroenterology, general and laparoscopic surgery, gynecology and obstetrics, medical & surgical oncology, neurology, NICU, SCBU & pediatrics, orthopedics and neo -natal care units.
It is the first private hospital across India to have a Full Field Digital Mammography Machine after Tata Memorial Hospital, Mumbai. The Hospital is expanding the capacity from 205 to 300 beds. We will soon be proud that a multi-specialty hospital in West Bengal will have the radiation facilities, which includes a Linear Accelerator and Brachytherapy. We are also in the process of creating a patient entertainment area where the bed will be rolled to the entertainment zone.
Pharmaceutical
Atlanta Biological is a progressive, innovative and rapidly expanding pharmaceutical company, with offices in North America, Europe and India. Atlanta Biological is exporting a wide range of pharmaceutical products to Far, Middle and Near Eastern African markets. The company’s major focus is critical care and oncology. It aims to be recognized as a leader in these areas, developing and providing a range of speciality products and unique scientific services (eg. medical information tools) used by Physicians and ICU specialists for rapid diagnosis and critical care treatment.
High quality standards and continuity of supply are of vital importance for critical care and oncology treatments. In order to meet these requirements, Atlanta Biological has recently taken on manufacturing facilities in India to produce its own products. The company is working on innovative products such as Biosimilars, including those at an early stage of development, which Atlanta Biological can in-license for development and register across the globe with the aim of making novel, state-of-the-art products available as soon as possible to Indian Physicians, Trauma / Surgical Critical care specialists, Oncologist and most importantly to patients.
Atlanta Biological has already made its presence in various international markets such as South East Asia, Latin America, CIS, Middle East and Africa, with strong presence with various speciality formulations, APIs and Diagnostics.
Agricultural
Agriculture in India is demographically the broadest economic sector and plays a significant role in its overall socio-economic fabric. Even though majority of the land and 50% of the total work force is engaged in agriculture, it has an unsatisfaction contribution to the GDP of the country.
Seeds are the fundamental ingredients for agriculture to happen; research shows that in general productivity of the crop would be effectively increased by 20% using quality seeds alone keeping other cultural and management practices the same.
Ceres Beeja Research Private Limited, commonly known as “CERES” was setup with the ‘goal’ : ‘To facilitate probatively the growth of agricultural seed industry and sustainable agriculture in the country’. Our focus lies on field crops especially, Paddy, Mustard, Maize and Vegetables.
The objectives of the company are:
- To conduct business in the field of agricultural seed production, promotion and multiplication of agricultural seeds.
- To promote and implement research and development
- To conduct regular capacity development, awareness building and promotional activities.

B. P. PODDAR FOUNDATION FOR EDUCATION B. P. Poddar Foundation for Education is a Trust dedicated to enhance and enrich the quality of Technical Education available in the country. B. P. Poddar Foundation is providing free education to the financially weaker students. The Foundation is also providing scholarship to some students at B. P. Poddar Institute of Management & Technology. In addition to above, B. P. Poddar Foundation for Education is also providing Science Scholarship to eligible students through the Educational Co-ordination Committee and also helping the students to buy books at their study centre. ANANDOLOK Our Group Chairman Sri Arun Poddar is one of the Trustee of Anandalok Hospital, which has five hospitals in Kolkata and one in Ranigunj, acclaimed for providing world-class medical facilities at price affordable by the common people. Anandalok Hospital is the most inexpensive hospital for Bypass Surgery at Rs. 85,000/-. Anandalok has built 5600 houses at a cost of Rs. 62 crores and given to people who could never dream of having a roof on their head. Anandalok is also running 18 schools in West Bengal providing free education and fooding to the students at a cost of Rs. 10/- per month. Also providing free ration to the economically weaker section of the society approx 8000 people every month. Amongst the other activities, Anandalok has been instrumental in “jirnodhaar” of 130 temples in different districts of West Bengal and other states. Anandalok is pursuing several projects, some of which are at an advance stage including village development.
